MY THOUGHTS:

What to say about this? Everybody read it. Most people loved it, some people hated it. For me, the first 75% was super boring. The last quarter was good, hence the 3 stars. (if it wasn't for that last 25%, I would have given it 2 stars)

I think it has potential to get better and since it's the first book in the series, I'm willing to give it a chance (that and the fact that I have the box set...)

Anyway, the writing was good and easy to read. The plot was interesting and it had lots of action. Also there was a scene at a motel that I liked very much. 

My main problem was with the characters. I couldn't connect with any of them.

Vee, the best friend was an idiot, not a very good friend at all, on the contrary, she was so hormone-driven that she didn't pay attention to her friend whatsoever. Also, I think the author tried to make her appear funny and failed miserably.

Nora... well, what can I say about Nora? She is utterly annoying, infuriating. She makes Bella Swan look like Einstein, always making the worst decisions and being so so so so immature and lacking common sense.

And Patch...to be honest, I didn't fall for him. He was mysterious? yes. He had great abs? yes. But sexy? Mmm... nope. At least, not yet.

Furthermore, I don't know when or why they fall in love and that irritates me. a lot. :D

In any case, I will continue with the second book because I want to know where this is headed.

MY THOGUHTS:

First, I must say that I don't like the guy in the trailer. In my mind Jackson Godspeed looks more like the guy in the cover, and for me he has dark hair lol. (I want what I want ladies! hehe)

Second, I bought this book at TBD, as always because they are amazing. I chose the hardback because this cover was nicer than the paperback (didn't like the letters in that one) and friggin' argentinian mail  lost it. I bought a new one, and guess what? they both were delivered to me in the same day, 5 months later!  #$#"&"&"°?! WTF????

I gave the second copy to a friend who I think will enjoy it as much as I did, though.

Anyway, back to business. I am so happy with myself for having the patience of waiting for it, because I absolutely adored this story.

If you are looking for an average teen angel story, this one is not for you. 

We are use to stories were vampires are famous but it is the first book I've read were humans are aware of the existance of Angels.

Not only that, they worship them. They are celebrities. And some of them are guardian angels... but guess what? they won't save you for love no no no, they will save you for money... at least most of them...

until Jackson Godspeed...

The world created by Scott Speer is incredible, he thought even the tiniest detail. He actually invented things such as a reality show where the winner got a year of free saving by an angel.

Maddy is well... Maddy. A little lot whiny and she sounds so silly and smug with that "I don't care about angels" attitude that she made me angry a few times.

Jackson is sooooooo great. Loved his personality, his looks, his temperance and the way he kept himself "down to earth" (no pun intended lol) even if he was the most famous, sexy and rich guy in the world.

His assistant is so funny, don't remember her name right now but I loved her little appearances.

The scene while they dance was super well developed, I loved it!

What else?

Plot: this book is not only about a teen romance, it has a very interesting plot. There's been some mysterious deaths in Angel City and they are targeting angels... 

This got me glued to the pages and some parts were eerie!!! I won't spoiled anything though, this is a book worth reading.

And BTW... Scott Speer is a hottie hehe. :p

INTRIGUING

STUNNING

BITTERSWEET

Those are a few adjectives that came to my mind after reading this book. 

I loved book 1 but I was completely blown away by this one.

The achieved characters' depth is outstanding, my heart ached for each of them, laughed with each of them and fell in love with them too.

I loved the trips Anna and Kope did, I was expecting more "around the world action" but it was just fine anyway.

In this instalment we get to know new characters that are fascinating as well and I absolutely fell in love again with all our "old" characters.

Kope's chivalry, the twins' perkiness, Blake's friendliness, Anna's growth since book one and of course, Kaidan's seductiveness.

Honestly, this guy can give any Hollywood star a run for his money!

This story was also a few steps higher in the "sensual scale", it was super suggestive and I drooled the whole 2 days it took me to read it.  

Absolutely fast paced and surprising, I found the plot original and remarkable again.

I thought Wendy Higgins couldn't get better after SWEET EVIL but she totally did!!!

The end was bittersweet, but now all I want is for those Dukes to go to H*** and for the Nephs to be free.

Can't wait for book 3!

There was no one in the classroom besides the two of us. To admit this girl made me feel a little shaky sounded weak. I put on a manly face, squared my shoulders, and sat in the desk behind her. The little kid in me still wanted to run away like a baby, though.

It was a high-pitched giggle, a normal girl’s sound. That wasn’t right. I don’t remember any of the other spirits laughing before.

“So you wanna run from me, huh? Go ahead. I’ll just find you like I always do, Caleb,” she said, still facing the chalk board in the front of the classroom. Her voice was smooth like a musical instrument, maybe a flute. Nah. It was more like a harp. I could listen to it all day.

But even her sexy pipes didn’t change the fact that she just read my mind. How did she do that?

“Are you going to run, or stay? I need a quick answer, because I have a lot to do today.” She turned her head to the side a bit.

“I don’t run from anything,” I said, trying to ignore the prickle in my underarms. Good thing I used my dad’s deodorant this morning. That old-timers stuff was strong enough to knock out anything.

She didn’t scare me as much as some of the other walkers, my nickname for them. But I wasn’t ready to get her digits either. As a baby, I remembered talking to a few of them. That ability disappeared sometime around my thirteenth birthday. This was the first time I spoke to one in four years.

“What are you people: angels, ghosts, or zombies?” I asked, my voice squeaking on the last syllable. What a dork.

“Can’t you be a little more creative?” She turned around in her seat to face me, an amused expression on her ridiculously gorgeous face. I sucked my breath. Her strange amber-hazel eyes pierced through me. The word beautiful didn’t do enough for this walker-girl.

“I thought I was pretty creative,” I said.

“Nope. Your ideas suck,” she said with a smug face.

“Nice. Thanks,” I said, getting annoyed.

“And I don’t sparkle in the sun, either. So scratch that one off your list too.”

I frowned. “Then tell me the right answer. And you can go ahead and explain how I won the honor of being stalked?”

“I’m a creative mix of many things. Feel better now?” She tilted her head. Blue-black hair flowed around her face as if it were made of silky thread. “So others have come before me?” She seemed to be talking to herself rather than asking me.

“Maybe,” I said. Why should I tell her everything? One thing I did know. At this rate, I was probably going to be committed to the loony ward on the first day of school.

“I’m going to need your help soon, Caleb. You have to be ready,” she whispered, her face suddenly serious. Right then, I knew my world was about to change…forever.

This book gets 4 STARS!


I really liked it, it was a fast read, the writing style is amazing, so entertaining, fluent and with a splash of humour. 

The author mixed the paranormal stuff with everyday teenage problems and that made it great and believable. 

I didn't gave it 5 stars though because there was a part in the middle that was a little boring.
But only the middle because the beginning is awesome. It starts in a super interesting way and hooked me up from the very first page.

I liked the background of the story and its development. I also enjoyed the originality of it all.
At the start, Caleb and Jess' relation is so sweet and cute, Kyle and Shani are wonderful supporting characters and their (short) story is interesting as well.

Gia... I liked her :) 
A little bipolar for my taste but she had "doing-what-your-heart-wants-or-what you-should-do" issues so it's completely understandable.

What honestly was weird for me was the name, I mean, every time I read Gia Jones I couldn't stop thinking in G.I Joe O.o (yup! I'm that old! lol) and something similar happened when I read Caleb's full name: Caleb Elijah Wood (Who popped into my mind? FRODO! of course -.-)

Name complaints apart, I loved it. There was romance, action, magic and a not very common creature.
I'm looking forward to reading more of KaSonndra Leigh.

MY THOUGHTS:


Well here is my review, not exactly a piece of art... (I ran out of ideas today) but it is what it is lol.

Let's me just start by saying that I really enjoyed "Angel Evolution". 
It is a completely unique and different perspective for the angel-demon thing. Finally something original!!!

You know that Angels are the good guys and Demons are the bad guys right?WRONG!

"Angel Evolution" will put all those assumptions to the test. Until the end and even after it you still will doubt where the loyalties lay.

And that's a really good thing! I love when a book challenges your mind all the time!

David's writing is fresh, simple and fun. So is the story. It was a total fast reading!

It goes around 2 main characters which are Gabriel and Taylor. Being Gabriel a sexy Angel and Taylor a very special girl. (You'll know what I mean If you read the book!)

Personally, they are not my favorites, most of their love seems a little forced to me. But I liked them.

On the other hand, Sam and Chris are rich characters and they are more appealing. Both of them with super bright personalities and so interesting. But I can't speak here, I'm SO biased! lol (yup! Chris is UBER yummy!)

I love the twists the story has, many of them, and that kept me at the edge of my seat not wanting to stop reading for a second.

It's good to know the series keep getting better so I'll be reading the sequel soon!

The end... OMG! what a cliffhanger! I so wanna know who that person is and definitely I'm looking forward to reading more about Sam and Chris.

MY THOUGHTS:

"Falling in love is a lot like death. It chooses you. It decides the moment and the chain of events that will preclude the precise intersection of life in which it occurs. It uses you - treats you as though you were malleable in its warm pliable hands. It doesn't bother to ask if you want it, or need it, just fills the gaping hole of destiny's design"



Ok, after reading that phrase and seeing a great rating, I thought this was going to be the best book ever. Guess what? It wasn't. ¬¬
(it wasn't that bad either)

The only character I liked was Gage. Skyla's and Logan's description is totally shallow, it lays on the surface. What do we know about them? She is blond, he has wonderful eyes and they fell in love in what? 30 seconds?

I love reading YA novels and one of the cliches is that love at first sight thing but in order to be effective you need to get some description of the feelings and what happens to the characters. Here I didn't get it.

Everything in this book happens SO fast!

The idea of the book is really good but the way it's done didn't work for me. 

The short chapters were good at some point, because I like to read "one more chapter" before going to work or before sleeping etc, but it wasn't that cool the way they jumped from one topic to another. Sometimes it was like: What?!?! How did I get here? 

Anyhow, the end brings up an interesting turn of events, I would like to see what happens. I'll probably read the sequel but I'm not dying to.
