Top Reads of 2012

Here is a list of my favorite reads of the year. I tried to keep it short but I've read more than 115 books and happily for me, most of them were amazing (but that made this task a little hard)
Not all of the books were published on 2012 but I read them this year so...

Top 13:

(yes "Top 13", because I couldn't narrow it more and also because I'm cool like that :P)

Click on the cover to go to the book's Goodreads page :)

1 - Starcrossed (Starcrossed #1) by Josephine Angelini.

Fell in love with the characters! All of them, even the secondary ones.

The way mythology and modern life collide is stunning.
Originality mixed with a story we all know.
LOVED IT! (therefore the first place lol)
My review will come soon.

2- Divergent (Divergent #1) by Veronica Roth.

WOW! Just wow! This book blew my mind! One of the best dystopian books I've ever read!
Kick ass female and male lead and a very original and incredible plot.
Left me flying for days!
My review will come soon.

3 - Sweet Evil (The Sweet Trilogy #1) by Wendy Higgins.

The cover grabbed my attention at first but I fell in love with Anna and Kaidan almost instantly.
Great characters, a fresh look into angels and demons and a high quality writing.

You can read my review HERE.

4 - Obsidian (Lux #1) by Jennifer L. Armentrout.

*Swoon* *Sigh* When I first saw the descriptions I thought: "Aliens? That can't be good, why the hype?" And then I read it.

OMG! This is a MUST for everyone that likes paranormal romance. Sexy characters with a smart plot. One of the best couples ever. Fun story.

Review coming soon!

5- Perfect Chemistry (Perfect Chemistry #1) by Simone Elkeles.

A cute, lovely teenage love story. I couldn't love this book more even If I wanted.
Perfect! I regret taking so long to read it.

Check my review HERE.

6- Rapture (Fallen #4) by Lauren Kate.

An amazing end for a great series. I had this pre-ordered since the first day and didn't disappoint me.
The writing is way better than in the other 3 books and the story is compelling.
Also it has a lot of Cam whom I LOVE and more action!

Review coming soon!

7- Finding Home by Lauren Baker.

This is an ADULT book. It goes around a touchy subject such as prostitution and under aged sex but it is so brilliantly developed that doesn't bother the reader in the slightest.  On the contrary it is one of the best love stories I've read. EVER!

Sean is incredible and delicious and Megan is just amazing! You have to read this. (If you are over 18!) Review coming soon!

8 - Rival Demons (Peachville High Demons #5) by Sarra Cannon.

This whole series is wonderful. I read the 5 books in less than a week and can't wait for the last one.
Harper is a great and complete heroine and Jackson well, he is simply perfect.
I love all the books but in this one the author overcame herself.

Review coming soon! Meanwhile you can read the review of the first book HERE.

9 - Blood Debt (Touched #1) by Nancy Straight.

Centaurs! How original is that? Combined with an awesome heroine, a sexy male partner and a smart plot we have a GREAT BOOK!

This one was a surprised and left me speechless :)
Read my review HERE.

10 - Dreamless (Starcrossed #2) by Josephine Angelini.

This coulnd't be different. I ADORED book one in this series and the same happened with the second.

The writing improved a lot and we have another yummy character to be delighted!
The plot gets more complicated and interesting!

Review coming soon!

11 - Insurgent (Divergent #2) by Veronica Roth

The second instalment of this series is as good as the first. With more depth in characters and a more entangled plot. With unexpected turns and a great end!
Can't wait for book 3!

Review coming soon!

12 - Onyx (Lux #2) by Jennifer L. Armentrout.

Daemon and Katy never disappoint! They are sexy, fun and smart. The chemistry between them is exceptional!

With a remarkable ability to leave the reader with the mouth opened, Jennifer L. Armentrout created a 5 stars book again.

Read my review HERE.

13 - Grasping at Eternity (Kindrily #1) by Karen Amanda Hooper.

An author I didn't know surprised me in the best possible way. A common topic developed in a "not-at-all-common-way" .
With a beautiful cover, a nice and cute story, very real and lovely characters and an even better writing style, Karen Amanda Hooper gathered the perfect combo for a great book.
My review is HERE.

As I said, this was hard. VERY HARD actually, so there are many other books that didn't made it into the Top 13 exclusive list (XD) but are worthy of reading and be mentioned here.

These are the categories:

  3. I absolutely loved Obsidian as well! I really liked Under the Never Sky too. I read Uglies a few years ago and I remember thinking it was totally awesome... I thought it was even cooler when I found out that there was a whole genre that revolves around it!
