Review: Flawless by Sara Shepard

Flawless (Pretty Little Liars #2)
by Sara Shepard

BLURB:
In the exclusive town of Rosewood, Pennsylvania, where the sweetest smiles hide the darkest secrets, four pretty little liars--Spencer, Aria, Emily, and Hanna--have been very bad girls. . . .
Spencer stole her sister's boyfriend. Aria is brokenhearted over her English teacher. Emily likes her new friend Maya . . . as much more than a friend. And Hanna's obsession with looking flawless is literally making her sick. But the most horrible secret of all is something so scandalous it could destroy their perfect little lives.
And someone named "A" is threatening to do just that.
At first they thought A was Alison, their friend who vanished three years ago . . . but then Alison turned up dead. So could A be Melissa, Spencer's ultra competitive sister? Or Maya, who wants Emily all to herself? What about Toby, the mysterious guy who left town right after Alison went missing?
One thing's for certain: A's got the dirt to bury them all alive, and with every crumpled note, wicked IM, and vindictive text message A sends, the girls get a little closer to losing it all.

MY THOUGHTS:

This book has very different opinions. Apparently is one of those books that you love or you hate. No in-betweens. I'm in the first group.
I loved it.

I absolutely adore Sara Shepards writing. It is so simple and smooth but it never leaves out details.

The way she uncovers the true feelings of the girls is fantastic.
That's why I totally connected with them.

I liked Emily a bit more than in the first installment, though her story is dull and she is a drama queen.

Hannah is a hurricane of emotions. I loved to know her deeply and to realize she is more than meets the eye.

Aria is beyond smart, we know that. :D and it shows more in Flawless.

Maya is pushy. I don't like her whatsoever. She tries to manipulate Em in doing what she wants instead of letting her make her own decisions.

Wren was a bit of a jerk in this book too.

Spencer and Wren's relationship is more intense than on tv and way more developed.

A and S are so great together!!! (I'm not telling the names because this isn't on the tv show and it would be a huge spoiler). I would have liked even more of them.

The events unfolded pretty differently from the show, especially regarding the time line.

I can say there is a lot of suspense, action, romance and drama. Nice combo!
You should try it.
