Genre: Paranormal Romance

Published: March 5th 2012 by Compress Press

Rating: 4.5 stars

Synopsis:

It’s been three thousand years since the fall of Azzaziel and the rebirth of evil; three thousand years since the Sentinal Order, an elite group of warrior angels, returned to Celestium. Their job—rid Earth of the dark creatures, the UnHoly. And with luck, end Azza’s rule.

As if casting out demons isn’t hard enough, five-hundred-year-old Nesy has to masquerade as a teenage girl to do it. Nesy is the best of the Sentinals. She never makes mistakes, never hesitates, never gets emotionally involved. Until she meets Aydan.

He is evil incarnate; a fallen angel that feeds off the souls of others. Everything Nesy is supposed to hate. But she can’t, because he’s also the love of her former life as a human girl—a life that ended too soon, tying her to emotions she was never supposed to feel.

Now Nesy must choose between doing her duty—damning Aydan to the fiery depths of hell—or saving him, and condemning herself. And her choice may cost her, and Celestium, far more than anyone realizes.

How much will she sacrifice for love?

My Review:

I got this book from the author in exchange for an honest review.

When I saw this book in the R2R list, I couldn't help myself! I jumped into it in a second! Everybody said it is awesome, and all of my friends gave 5 starts to it.
How could I not read it?

My first impression was: Wow! I'm in love with this book! Starting with the beautiful cover and after reading the first two chapters I was captivated. Totally drawn into the plot.

But after a few chapters, it became a little disappointing. WAIT! before you start throwing things at me let me finish the idea XD
Disappointing because after hearing so many good things I was expecting more, like a mind blowing story... and it was good, really good actually but not amazing...

Nesy was confusing, sometimes she was a kick ass Sentinal and after that her head was a mess. Going back and forward with the same thoughts over and over again.

Aydan was cute but I didn't get to know him enough, though I could relate more to him than to Nesy.

Maybe the biggest issue for me was that the timeline was so short. The whole story happens in 4 days! And I would have loved more. We get to know their previous story through flashbacks but it didn't feel enough.
For instance, Aydan's motives to join Azza didn't feel clear for me. I won't say anything to avoid spoilers.

At this point it was a 3.5 rating book, which is not bad at all, but I know by now you may be wondering why did I give it 4.5 stars then?

Well, ladies and gentleman (XD), the end did it for me!
It was in-cre-di-ble! I wasn't expecting that at all! The kind of twist that makes you spin around the room in awe!

The last 15% of the book was simply OUTSTANDING! heart breaking at some point and then giggle worthy!
No doubt it left me wanting to read more. I believe the story is just about to begin.

The writing is impeccable and the cover is to die for! Beautiful!

I can't wait to read the next book!
Thanks Christine for giving me the chance to read this!
